Kathy,
Thanks for reading and supporting Farm Stories. And for sharing as it makes me smile too!!! xoxoxo
Thanks for sharing this. Mark was an amazing young man.The best “Charlie Brown” that I have ever seen.
Thanks Mr. Earnest for reading and supporting…. Charlie Brown was an experience we all three shared and have never forgotten…. Beautiful time……
Love it, as usual I played out in my head like a movie.
I appreciate your voice and support Sheli….. Thank you!!!! xoxo
my childhood was intertwined with mark as well. your words keep him alive and stirring in our hearts. thank you! I could gush myself, but will refrain. again, thank you. xo
Talking about Mark throughout my life and then writing about him the past ten years I realize the bar has been raised in the personal quest for leaving a lasting presence with those you love…. The last thing Viola ever said to me was the one thing she feared was her unforgettable son would be forgotten….. I hope she is pleased with how I’ve remembered him in my book…. I KNOW she’s beaming over how many of us have been touched by his beautiful energy and remember….
Thank you LJB for always being there…. And now reading, supporting and adding your voice to Farm Stories…..
xoxoxo
Sheli, pass the popcorn, please!
Thank you Kat!!!!
Your reading and support for Farm Stories means so much to me!!!!
Love you…..
I love reading these excerpts. You have such a way of allowing the reader to feel with you. I’m glad you were able to use your struggles in childhood and adolescence to become a stronger person who can share your thoughts and memories. Can’t wait to read more.
I’m overwhelmed by the support for Farm Stories…. Thank you for yours Terri….
I discovered almost by accident sharing struggles not only helps you find your voice but you take ownership and become a stronger whole person….. Again, thank you so much!!!
So glad you found a treasured friend. Everybody should have at least one!
Janet,
Your reading and support means so much to me!!!!
Thank you!!!
Feeling nostalgic (& old!) :o) xoxo
But we’re still HERE Linda!!! Thank you for reading and supporting Farm Stories!!! xoxoxo
This story took me way back to my own childhood. I did have male friends who surrounded me but they came with cars & trucks et all. I never had a Mark but I did have Kim. Kim was a tomboy of sorts. She was strong-willed and loved Streisand. We would sit for hours on end listening to the soundtrack of A Star Is Born. She loved music and we would listen to everyone and everything. Her favorites were The Carpenters, Barbra Streisand & Janis Ian. Like you and Mark we’d sing & talk for hours on end. Her friendship was amazing to me on so many levels, she got me and we shared everything. Kim was taken from us way to soon.
Eddie your post today took me back to Kim, I thank you for this. I’m off to find the cd of “A Star Is Born” and have a moment with Kim.
Love you and your stories
Bruce,
Back in the day finding a friend who “Get’s Us” is the gift that keeps on giving throughout our lifetime…. I’m so happy you had Kim….
The Women In The Moon is a fave of mine!!! Thank you for your continued, reading, support and love!!!

Can’t wait for you to hear it Carla!!! Played it over and over while I was putting the post together!!!
Thank you for your continued support!!! xoxoxo
I knew Viola my entire life & never would have thought of her as timid. Your perspective has opened my eyes to another sude of her. Thank you.
Joni,
I’m so happy you read Rum and Coca Cola!!!
It’s so fascinating how we can come away with different takes on people…. The last thing Viola said to me was she was concerned Mark might be forgotten as time went on…. I promised her I never would…. I hope she is smiling over my remembrance of him in my book….
Thanks again for visiting Farm Stories and hope you come back….
Well, you failed to disappoint again. I remember you speaking of someone named “Mark” and seems to this aging mind I may have met him?…or you just made him so real that my imagination is making me think so. My computer took control of itself last PM and I had a LOT of problems trying to figure it out, I’m so electronically challenged, as I have told you before. It
switched itself over form Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 and had to put back all my apps, couldn’t access FB and the first thing I thought was “Oh NO!!! I’m going to miss Eddie’s blog!!! But the computer nor you let me down. I figured it out and you wrote another great blog. So glad Mark came into your life. Now I’m ready to find out more…but I think I know a big thing about Mark and the reason I member the name. Where’s my box of Kleenex???XOXOXO <3
Thanks for you beautiful support Kathy…. It truly means so much to me…. You probably met Mark as he was at my house often…..
I so appreciate your voice…. Your the best!!! Always have been!!! xoxo

Cindy,
Would be thrilled if you would tag Angie… I didn’t know she was on FB….
Thank for reading!!!!
Yes, Mark blessed many of us. Great memories of Children’s theatre and Drama Club! Our stories are parallel in many respects. I always had plenty of ‘girl friends’, never good at the major the major team sports.
I was blessed with loving family support !
Anxious to see your book in print!
Brad,
Thanks for sharing your memories and voice about Mark. I’d forgotten Children’s theatre!
I appreciate your reading and support of Farm Stories!!! Thank you
xo
Soul mates! Thanks for sharing in such away that we were there with you.it brought back memories of music, and school days.were you and mark in band or choir at Winslow in the old building near the parking lot? I have a picture of you two in my head in a classroom setting there.
Lynn,
Appreciate your support and voice with Farm Stories. And so happy you connected and remembered those days. I was in that building for sure.
I remember Mark being in Swing Choir but not positive if that was Winslow or just Pike Central. I can’t remember for sure if Mr. Hayes was the music teacher and Mr. Earnest band and we just rehearsed together in that building but I know I was there.
Thank you again for reading Farm Stories….
Enjoyable! I lived in Spurgeon for a while and met Mark at church. I think of him often. He was a good person. Art class is one of my favorite memories, especially when you and Mark where there. You both were so artistic. xoxo
Thank you Cindy for reading and sharing your memories of Mark. It’s made me so happy having so many tell how much he meant to them.
Your support means so much to me!!! xoxo
Clearly this one touched many of your readers, some of whom also knew Mark. From a critical writer’s point of view (and I mean “critical” in the sense of rendering an objective opinion) it shows you further exploring and refining your voice as a writer. Not only are you telling your audience something new about your youth and development, you’re finding ways to write it really well: your “battle of manners”, for instance, made light work of a description and, as one of your other readers has said, added to the sense of it playing out visually, as in the watching of a movie. Finally, I LOVE your exploration of understanding friendship without the dimension of sexuality. That element of a relationship may evolve, or it may not, and the importance of the relationship may or may not be influenced by its presence. Here again, the topic is complex and not binary, and your treatment of it reflects that. More, please! xo
Angie,
Thank you so much for your beautiful feedback!!!
Besides paying tribute to Mark who was so pivotal throughout periods of my life (you’ll learn when you read my book- wink) I wanted it to capture the innocence…. So naive, as we were drawn to each other with no idea exactly why…. Also with the “battle of manners” as I believe deep down within their core, mothers always know…
Thank you for reading, supporting and giving your voice to Farm Stories!!! Means so much to me!!!! xoxoxo
Such a testament to your friendshio with Mark. You two were a hoot in high school. I still love to look at the pictures we took when were taking our plays to the elementary schools. Somewhere I still have the one where we built the pyramid down in A wing before the classrooms were set up,
Pam,
Precious, timeless memories…..
Seems impossible how long ago it was. Thank you for reading Rum and Coca-Cola, supporting and giving your voice towards Farm Stories.
And most importantly your love & friendship…… xoxoxoxo
I always remember the painting Mark did of Cher. He was so gifted. Love to read your stories!! xoxo
Sissy,
Loved that painting…. Wish I still had it…. He was a genius artist…. Everything he touched… “Magic”
Thank you for a lifetime of love and support!!!!

Loved the story, & bringing back the memories of Mark, another reminder of how precious life is, & of another of our classmates taken early in life. I also can’t wait to read the entire book, keep up the great work Eddie!!!
Mark left a huge imprint on many hearts. Thank you Angie for you voice and support!!!!
Love ❤️ I remember Mark, however I never talked to him I don’t think. I was pretty shy, especially talking to guys lol, and he always seemed shy too. 🙂

Wow you are such a good writer, it makes me feel I’m there. I’m glad you had Mark as a friend that not only helped you in your awkward time of life. Mark was a blessing to You . funny to hear about vinyl records 🙂 from long long long ago , but I still have some 🙂
Thank you Melinda. I really enjoyed thinking and reliving my time with Mark. He was a force and inspiration.
