Eddie, thanks for the memory. Mom, Dad, Judy and I must have invented “staycations”. It was not unusual for Judy and I to arrive home around 3 pm and told to change clothes. We were going to Pike County Forest for a picnic. Mom would have slowcooked a pot of green beans, new potatoes and ham. It was a refreshing respite from school and work.

Sounds like my idea of a perfect day. Hopefully you could eat that lunch by a stream or lake or waterfall.

Joan-
It does sound great! I know how much you love nature! You’d be at home in Pike State Forest!

The tower always scared me because I am afraid of heights. I remember going there and everyone would always climb the tower – not me.
