Did you see the episode of “Transparent” where Ali and Josh reminisce about Jim Croce, and the song “Operator”?

When I was a really odd girl out in Mt. Vernon, Indiana in the ’70’s,,, parents in a sham of a marriage, being totally outside girl culture,, music was my way out of the pain. I had the Jim and Melinda Croce albumn as well as this one (one of the benefits of having no social life was being free to earn money babysitting) as well as most the others he recorded. I bought a guitar, and started learning the chords to his songs.

The music of the era was a saving grace.

Thank you for this blog.

Shari- Music is medicine for the soul- Where would we have been without it? Music from the 70’s was DIVINE and I’m grateful for being witness to it first hand. No one represents it any better than Jim Croce. I adored him as well…

Thank you so much for sharing your voice and experience. Appears being an outsider was plenty, wish we’d known!!! I’m honored you take something away with you from reading my blog!!!

I did see that episode of “Transparent” it was so wonderful as is the show…

    Thank you again!!!
