there you go again. your story-telling holds up a special mirror of days gone by….the dime store…wouldn’t it be such fun to go to that old store at Christmas one more time?
and don’t get me started on the dog…

LJB- Was at the drugstore this week and turned down the isle and saw a display of chocolate covered cherries. That thought of that maraschino cherrie wrapped in that cream sent my mind flying back to that Dime Store- clutching my 5 one dollar bills. Thank you for reading, supporting and adding your voice and love!!! Have a Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!!! Tossing LOT’S of Glitter!!!
    Smiling bout that dog…
    Love you BIG!!!

Beautiful story!! Your story brought back so many memories. Going shopping at the dime store, Grandparents, and Christmas. We always had to have fish for supper on Christmas Eve at my grandparents. That is what my Grandpa Rogers always wanted. Thanks for the memories!!

Donna- Thank you so much for sharing you thoughts and voice with Farm Stories. A blog piece normally takes a week or more to write and I did Return Of Christmas in an afternoon. There was truly something about it that just came spilling out. It reads like a simpler time and in ways it was but in other ways so very complicated. After I posted today with the picture and I read it over I felt the magic too. That doesn’t always happen. I so appreciate you and your support. Have a beautiful Christmas and Blessed New Year!!! And don’t forget to Toss Glitter!!!

Eddie, you evoke so many feelings and inspire memories. In the midst of feeling overwhelmed by the season; like I can’t possibly “make it nice” for “my peeps” I plugged into FB and your piece fell like a plumb into my hand. What a delightful perspective to walk into! I’m thinking about J J Newberry’s when I was a child (Jeff must rember that place)! The smell of “dry goods”, the wooden floor, and spinning a stool at the counter as I walked by, looking and lingering….childhood memories are a great springboard. Thank you for sharing yours and inspiring ours.

Leslie- Thank you for sharing you beautiful voice with FarmStories. There is no greater compliment than something I write can remind you of a personal memory. That’s simply amazing! JJ Newberry’s sounds incredible and Jeff says don’t forget the “chocolate soda”, and “Adam Miller” around the corner. Thank’s again for reading and supporting! Means so much to me!!! Have a Happy Holiday and don’t forget to ‘Toss Glitter’…..

Eddie, you shared that one of the things you do the best is finding the beauty in all of us. I believe one of your gifts is making people laugh. You and your sarcastic wit would put me in stitches. You still make me laugh when I am fortunate to speak with you over the phone. Although some of the stories in your blog are so painful and heartbreaking, you triumphed and I am so happy that you were true to yourself. I will always remember sitting in the alto section practicing for the Christmas Cantata on Sunday nights before church. When I wanted to giggle, I’d turn around and look at you. You always knew how to make me laugh.

Chuck- The gift of laughter is perhaps the greatest a person can give. I’m overwhelmed you received that gift from me. Our childhood friendship formed a bond between us that lasts our lifetime. Thankful for that and you!!! Much Love…. xoxo
